Combined transportations to Iran

Taking into account of the working experience of YUGINTERTRANS on this direction, it should be noted that often the equipment delivery contracts stipulate for the equipment delivery up to the equipment installation sites using the forces and means of the seller. Thus, long-term contracts (equipment for oil and gas industry) between OJSC "Sumy Frunze machine building science and production association " and "National Gas Company" of Iran envisage the equipment delivery by the Seller directly onto the objects within Iranian territory which are being constructed. As the objects are located in different parts of Iran, several alternative ways of cargo delivery are used.
  1. Railway transportations in transit via Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan via stations Sarakhs/Turmenistan-Sarakhs/Iran and further, after the wheel bogies are replaced for narrow gauge, to destination station in Iran.
  2. Railway transportations in transit via Russia and further by sea via port of Olya/Astrakhan' to port of Bandar Anzali (Iran) and further with truck to the final destination place in Iran.
  3. Railway transportations in transit via Russia, Azerbaijan (Astara station) with transshipment onto the trucks and at the "ASTARA TERMINAL" (Iran) and road transportation to destination place in Iran.
  4. Vessel cargo consignments can be delivered by sea via port of Odesa to port of Bandar Abbas (Iran) and further with truck to final destination place.

Naturally, the route in each particular case is selected considering the economic efficiency and customer's wishes and depends on many factors. To take all these factors into consideration, and to find out the optimal delivery way is the forwarder's task when carrying out such transportation.

Information about ASTARA terminal

"ASTARA TERMINAL" is the powerful gateway which connects Europe, Russia and CIS countries with Astara Railway Terminal at the Azerbaijanian-Iranian border by means of railway transportations. All usual cargoes, as well as constructional structures with weight up to 120 tons within railway gauge, are transported from this terminal with trailers. The road transport with standard size and axle loading goes through Astara-Azerbaijan to Astara-Iran. The heavy weight and the oversized cargo goes through Bil-E-Sawar in Azerbaijan, then goes through border passing point to Bil-E-Sawar in Iran. Further, upon the customs clearance the cargo is delivered to the consignee's warehouse in any Iranian place. In addition, ASTARA TERMINAL serves as transshipment point and the corridor for deliveries from Europe and CIS to Iran of cargoes which can be transported in transit through Iran with road transport. One more advantage of ASTARA TERMINAL consists of the opportunity to transport the cargoes exported from Iran to Astara with road transport with subsequent their delivery to Russia, other CIS and European countries along the railway.
