Arrangement of transportations of rolled sheets from Poland to Ukraine for OJSC "Interpipe-Novomoskovs'k Pipe Plant"

The task which was to be solved by Yugintertrans was the arrangement of transportation of rolled metal sheets from Poland to the station Nyzhn'odniprovs'k in amount of 5000 tons per month. Due to the difference in railway gauge width in Ukraine and Poland, the cargoes should be transhipped onto the rolling stock of Ukraine at the border station. The complexity of arrangement of such transportation consisted of the fact that the Ukrainian railway had no rolling stocks suitable for transportation of cargo having such geometric and weight parameters which were requested for transportation. The only possible technical solution was the reequipping of flat carriages for this transportation specially. For these purposes Yugintertrans leased 34 carriages. In accordance with drawings developed by our company the attached equipment was made and installed onto the flat carriages which were designed for cargo fastening on route.

The enterprise Yugintertrans took organizational steps for formation of carriages into the groups and speeding up of their movement from Mostiska station (at the border of Ukraine and Poland) to Nyzhn'odniprovs'k station. Thus, the time of the being of route for flat carriages was 72 hours only, instead of 168 hours stipulated with the schedule. This circumstance had significant effect onto the speed of railway carriages turnover, and thus, resulted in essential economic effect. The strict schedule and the supervision on the each stage of flat carriage movement allowed to fulfil the planned monthly volume of transportations in amount of 5000 tons and the schedule of pipes production at the OJSC "Interpipe-Novomoskovs'k Pipe Plant".
